devnotes is open source. Everything below is optional — the app works with no account and no server.
Your backend
optionalPoint devnotes at a Firebase project you own. Your notes then live in your Firestore, under your billing, and you can revoke our access by deleting the web app credential. Leave this empty to keep notes in this browser only.
AI assistant
optionalBring your own key to summarise a note, rewrite a paragraph or explain a code block from the slash menu. Requests go from your browser straight to the provider — no proxy in between, and devnotes never sees the key.
GitHub backup
coming soonCommit every note as a markdown file to a repository you control. One commit per note per day, authored by the devnotes app.
Needs the GitHub App, which is waiting on review. Watch issue #64 for the ship date.
Appearance
The theme follows your system by default. The accent drives links, the caret, the active note and syntax keywords.
